Most people like to visit Maine's beautiful state parks in the summer, but they are just as appealing in the fall and winter. There's nothing like a snow-covered beach (try Reid State Park in Georgetown or Popham Beach in Phippsburg, or any of the beaches in the Portland area that remain open year-round).
