Two Lights Lobster Shack Restaurant, Cape Elizabeth, Maine

Lighthouse at Two Lights State Park, Cape Elizabeth, Maine One of the Portland area's most popular eating spots opens in April each year. Two Lights Lobster Shack Restaurant, on the oceanfront in Cape Elizabeth, Maine, offers a view of two lighthouses (one is now a private home) and rocky granite ledges; the smell of briny sea spray; and the sound of surf. Oh, yes, and fresh, succulent Maine lobster, shrimp, clams, scallops, and other seafood, which always tastes best eaten outdoors at a lobster pound, lobster shack, or lobster bake.

The award-winning Lobster Shack, with the lighthouse towering above it and the fog horn nearby, has been a local landmark since the 1920s. You can enjoy your meal inside or out, while watching ships entering Portland Harbor and local lobstermen hauling their traps.

After your meal, explore the rocky shoreline and small sandy beach, or take a walk high above the surf and granite ledges on one of the paths that meanders through Two Lights State Park.
